This aluminium base tray makes baking much easier. Place a round sheet of baking paper on the rimmed tray, then position a cake ring on top. Your tin for sponge layers and tall cakes is ready. After baking, turn the sponge layer out onto a cloth so that its surface remains beautifully level.
