Uses for Food Colouring Pastes
Paste colours are particularly suitable for colouring rolled fondant, marzipan and flower paste. They can of course also be used to colour buttercream or dessert creams, icing, whipped cream and other mixtures. Unlike liquid colours, for example, paste colours do not alter the consistency of the food to which they are added. When diluted with alcohol, they can also be used for painting, allowing you to decorate a fondant covering beautifully.
How to Use Paste Colours
To achieve a particular shade, it is best to begin with a small amount. Gradually work in more paste if you would like to intensify the colour. Different colours can also be mixed according to colour theory to create your own individual shades. We recommend wearing gloves when working with colouring paste, as it is highly pigmented and may stain your hands.
