Stevi Auble began her cake-design career in 2010 when she opened her company Hey There, Cupcake! in San Diego. A self-taught artist, Stevi focused primarily on edible paper, which was still a largely unusual medium in cake making at the time. Over the following years, she developed innovative techniques and methods for transforming these unassuming thin sheets into lifelike flowers and distinctive decorations. She is a world-renowned, award-winning artist and instructor who is invited to events around the globe to teach, demonstrate her techniques and promote this art form. Her work helped wafer paper attain its present status as an important, ready-to-use medium in the industry. In addition to developing edible-paper techniques, she is known for her modern aesthetic, extensive use of negative space and striking colour combinations. When she is not travelling or making wedding cakes, she enjoys spending time with her two daughters and her husband and everything Southern California has to offer, including its many golf courses, beaches, excellent restaurants and Disneyland.
