Saxon Baking Art for Home: Cherry Cake with Egg Cream
Discover the taste of grandma's cake table. With our tempting baking mix for cherry cake with egg cream, you'll create a wonderfully moist, light and airy cake prepared in the traditional way.
The delicately crispy base from our carefully balanced baking mix forms the perfect basis for a fruity cherry filling (cherries not included). The whole thing is crowned with a creamy, melt-in-the-mouth egg cake, which is made in a snap with the included cream powder.
Preparation of Golden Cherry Cake
(Package contents: 230g baking mix, 225g cream powder)
You will also need: 185g butter, 6-7 eggs or 350g (size M), 250g water, 350g cherries (drained weight).
Put the baking mix (230g), 60g butter and 1 egg (size M, approx. 50g) into a mixing bowl and mix briefly with an electric hand mixer or food processor on a low speed, then mix for 3 minutes on the highest speed. Pour the batter into a springform pan (26cm diameter) and spread the cherries on top. Bake at 200°C (top/bottom heat) for 25-30 minutes. In the meantime, prepare the egg tart. Put the cream powder, 300g eggs (5-6 eggs), 125g softened butter and 250g water into a mixing bowl and beat with an electric hand mixer or food processor for 3 minutes using a fine whisk. Spread the finished cream on the cherry cake and bake for a further 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
